Members of St Bartholomew's congregation responded to a call from the Church Urban Fund to sleep out for one night in advent in aid of the most marginalised in our society. In practice, most participants chose to sleep inside the church (although they did not turn the heating on), but two brave souls slept in the porch - avoiding the heavy rain that fell that night.
Funds raised from similar events across the country will be distributed via Church Urban Fund, through the Together Network; offering help and support to people in England who need it the most. They may be struggling with debt, homelessness, isolation, addiction, abuse or violence. Whatever challenges they face, The Advent Sleepout Challenge will help CUF reach out to even more people, offering practical solutions to help transform lives locally.
