Our annual Good Friday walk will begin at 1:30pm from Chipping Village Hall. A collection for Water Aid will be taken at the beginning.
This is a relatively gentle walk. Dogs on lead are welcome.
Work to upgrade the lighting and AV system in St Bartholomew’s will begin on Tuesday 2nd January. The work is expected to take about 6-8 weeks. Sunday services will continue as normal, but we regret that the church will be closed to visitors while the contractors are working.
We will be holding our Harvest Festival family service at 10:45am on Sunday 1st October. This will be followed by our Harvest Lunch at 12:00 noon in Chipping Village Hall. Price is £8.00 per adult and £4.00 per child. There is a sign up sheet at the back of church. If you can help set up the Village Hall before church, please let Liz or Barbara know.
Our Harvest gifts this year will go to support charities working to alleviate poverty in our local area. Please help by bringing donations of non-perishable food and other essentials for Ribble Valley Food Bank. We are also collecting funds for The Foxton Centre & Maundy Relief. More details on these three charities can be found here (pdf file), including the current (14th September 2017) list of urgently needed items at the Food Bank.
Come along and join us for a fun-filled afternoon in the Vicarage gardens. You are sure to find something to buy, delicious cakes to eat, Greenfields cheese & wine, plants & produce, try your luck on the raffle or other stalls or just relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
Entrance 50p; children free
Ever considered Bell Ringing? Wanted to go up the tower? Would like to see the bells? Well now is your chance.
We have one of the very few towers that you can climb and see our bells ringing. You can then go onto the roof (weather permitting) and admire the wide views over Chipping area.
Tower Open Day on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28th) from 2:00pm – 4:30pm. Don’t worry if you do not feel able to climb the tower, as we will have a TV feed from the bell chamber, showing the bells ringing. There will also be a produce stall.
Children must be accompanied by an adult to go up the tower.
