CHILDREN AT ST BART'S
Children at St Bart's
Sunday at St Bart’s
Our aim is that all Sunday services at St Bartholomew’s are relaxed and friendly. Children are welcome to join in as much or as little of the service as they wish. It doesn’t matter if they chatter or drop their toys – no doubt Jesus did the same when he was a child.
We have a toilet with baby changing facilities and there is plenty of space for pushchairs and baby carriers in church.
All Age Worship
St Bart’s All Age Service takes place on the 4th Sunday of the month. It is informal, creative thought provoking and fun for all ages as we worship God together. All Age Worship is led by a team of adults and young people and we serve refreshments for everyone afterwards.

Pet Service
We like working with children and animals! It’s usually the 4th Sunday in June, the kids are in charge and all animals are welcome in church if they can fit through the door. What could possibly go wrong?
Messy Church
Sometimes it’s classic Messy Church in Brabins School, Chipping. Sometimes it’s Sweaty Church when Messy Church gets a bit too friendly with Sports Relief. Sometimes it’s a Messy Christingle in St Bart’s. It’s also been a Messy Favela Experience and it’s likely to be Muddy Church when our EcoChurch project gets off the ground.
Whatever it is, we try to offer something fun and friendly for families roughly once every half term.
Confirmation
Our Junior Confirmation course encourages children in year 6 or older to explore the Christian faith for themselves and decide whether or not they wish to be confirmed at this stage. The course usually begins in March or April with the confirmation service being held in July or September in one of the churches in our deanery. Information about the next course is published through Brabin’s School or please contact Revd Fiona.
Safeguarding
As a church family it’s very important to us that children and vulnerable adults are treated with dignity and respect.
