For centuries, local parish churches have offered special services to mark key occasions in people’s lives. You don’t necessarily have to live in Chipping parish to have a special service at St Bartholomew’s, but we will expect you to come to church regularly if you have no other strong connection with the parish. Read on to learn more about weddings, baptisms (christenings) and funerals at St Bartholomew’s.

Baptism is a response to God’s love. It’s a way of saying you want to follow Jesus and be part of his family, the church.
You can be baptized at any age. If you yourself are being baptized, you will make some serious promises about your personal faith and your decision to follow Jesus. If your child is being baptized, you and the godparents will make the same promises on behalf of the child.
There is so much to think about when someone has died. We understand how difficult this can be and can help you create a funeral which will reflect the unique life of the person you knew. Anyone who has lived in the parish of St Bartholomew, Chipping for at least 6 consecutive months can have a funeral here, regardless of whether they attended church or not. Regular worshippers who live outside the parish can also have a funeral service here.
